Concert

I managed to avoid the rain on my morning walk. Then I did some work on a photo book before going to Katya's to pick pick the dismantled rats' cage, now that her last rat has died, so that it can be stored in our garage. I was planning to go on to Portobello from hers, since it is fairly close, but rowing was cancelled  because of the wind, unsurprisingly. 
I received a message from an ex-colleague in the afternoon, saying that she was going to a concert in Penicuik in the evening - since rowing was cancelled, I could go with her ! The concert was Sophie Bancroft and Tom Lyne at the Music Hub, in Penicuik High School. It is  pupil-run (with a lot of help from the music department) music venue which puts on gigs with artist from the school, the local community and also better known artist. Today the first half was from Penicuik High School pupils. It turns out that Sophie Bancroft was the first artist to perform there when it opened in the 2007, so it is right that she should be last one to perform too, since today was the last concert in the hub which is closing as part of the refurbishment plans for the school.
