Cumbria - Sri Lankan style?

We are now up in the high hill country and the road twisted past lots of terraced fields, some of which had tea growing in them.

This view was taken at a little place called Ella, where we stopped for tea. It's about 3000 ft above sea level.

We then continued to Nurawa Eliya, first passing by the impressive Lake Gregory, which judging by the numbers of coaches, school trips and watersports seems to be the Sri Lankan answer to Windermere.

In actual fact, Nuwara Eliya is known as 'Little England' because of its cool climate and the dubiously 'colonial' buildings.
