Living my dream

By Mima

A day of weather

We have had all sorts today. Bright sunshine without a cloud in the sky. Sudden high winds. Driving rain showers. Massive banks of snow-laden clouds roaring over the distant mountains and then over us (without dropping any of their contents here I'm glad to say). Then clear calm sky again.

I began the morning's work in G's garden in sleet and a bitter sou'westerly, dressed in my full insulated winter waterproof gear. An hour later I was peeling off layers as I overheated in the sun.

Bean and I managed to walk in a fine spell, but a few moments after we got home the clouds returned with another wild sou'westerly and I rushed round closing windows and doors...

The Blip was taken from the cemetery at 9 o'clock this morning, looking north, just before sleet arrived to drench us. I love the slot of watery sunlight over the Canterbury hills.

The sleet didn't deter Bean from an attack of the zoomies. She loves the wide open space of the cemetery, and perhaps some ice went up her bottom... I was cheering her on too much to think about taking a photo.

Despite preferring straightforward sunny weather, I do find these conditions energising. Not that I'm doing anything very energetic at the moment, except to exercise my fingers on the keyboard, and turning over pages of my book.
