Bearded Theory / Saturday

Good news! Sleeping diagonally worked :-)

On the programme it looked like fairly slim pickings for me, today. However, the Minx suggested that we start the day with Alt Black Era, which I enjoyed very much.

The chaps from Iggy Pop's brass section stepped up to fill a last minute gap in the schedule, as they have a jazz-hip hop act called Pan Amsterdam, which again I really enjoyed, so today was shaping up pretty well, plus I watched a few songs by a couple of bands in The Something Else Tea Tent.

The one act I was definitely up for seeing today was Iggy Pop, and I have to say that both he and his band were on fine form. To be honest, though, the only albums of his that I have are the two that he did with David Bowie, around the 'Berlin Period': - 'The Idiot' (excellent) and 'Lust For Life' (good) - so once he'd played 'The Passenger' and 'Lust For Life' I was ready to move on.

The Sugarhill Gang and The Furious Five - actually a composite of those two bands - were playing on the Woodland stage, so we headed over to watch that. It's much more the Minx's bag than mine, so I left early, regrettably missing Grandmaster Flash perform 'White Lines'.
