So It’s Goodbye to Porty for 8 Weeks

It was well worth the effort to get down to Porty at high tide this morning for my last spring dip there. The wind of yesterday which had been so brutal to my wall hydrangea was still blowing before I left home but was nowhere to be felt on the sand. The sun shone, the  sea was calm and clear and I got the early #45 bus straight home . The stars were aligned!

Peter, my knight in shining armour arrived yesterday evening and managed to tie up the fallen hydrangea. It wasn’t easy but he managed. It’s so heavy at the moment with all its flowers in bloom and there is scant availability of hooks on the wall to tie anything to.

I spent most of today foutering about, emptying the fridge, mostly by eating what was in it rather than wasting anything, reading the gas and electric meters so that if I’m asked for readings whilst I am away, I can give them, rather than them using estimated ones and washing all the towels and everything else I could find.

My suit case appears to close which makes me wonder what I’ve missed out. My rucksack contains everything I need for a swim lest my case goes missing. You can see where my priorities lie. All that remains is for me to give my keys to my kind neighbours who are going to water the  plants while I’m away.

It’s Friday and the TGIF drinks get together is looming in an hour. How time flies when one is having fun.
