I had no plans for today but waking to damp weather and after less sleep than normal I decided on an early trip to Kendal.

I was surprised to see all the market stalls because it’s not market day then discovered it’s the farmers’ market. I must never go in on a Friday. A few stalls were still being set up but it was interesting to wander around and also spotting some names I recognised from the Forty Farms book. I’ll have to mark the days on my calendar.

Annoyed that the bank opening times were not as stated on their website so I’ll need to return. I’d prefer to speak to a human rather than struggle through an automated phone system.

It was dry in Kendal but still raining back in Ambleside though it did brighten later. I fell asleep after lunch. Wine time tonight . . . just a mini bottle I bought in M&S.
