In Harlingen

The tenth of the eleven Frisian cities. Mind you, they're very small. For instance Harlingen has 15000 inhabitants. It's called a city because of medieval rights to do so. 

Harlingen is situated at the seaside. It used to be a port of importance but those days are long gone. We did encounter some beautiful buildings from those days. 

The fountain in Harlingen is situated in the harbour, shaped like a whale. It's supposed to spout water from the head, but unfortunately it wasn't functioning.
