When the Fenno-Soviet war ended in September 1944, the USSR demanded that a large area west to our capital be rented to it for 50 years. Red Army settled in the Porkkala area.
I rode there today. A local told me that this white building was the Red Army officers' club house. When Nikita Khrushchev rose to power, he gave the area back to Finland in 1956 as a goodwill gesture.
