‘Open art’ studios

I visited one of these today. I got slightly lost and phoned the artist. She said ‘Are you at the top of the road or the bottom?’ I had never been in that road before and I was facing a wide bend so how could I know which was the ‘top’ of the road? I got there in the end. The artist did enamel work; the thing at the bottom of the picture was going to end up as a clock. I think it was more craft than art. It’s nice to see where people live and work. This ‘studio’ was a massive building in the garden.
