Friday: Wild Honeysuckle
The heavy rain woke me up around 5am, but I went back to sleep for an hour - it was very dark and I thought something was wrong because I couldn’t hear Merlin the Cockerel crowing - it took him a while but he woke up and made it known! :-))
After waving MrD off to do his deliveries around 9am, I sat down with my coffee and looked through the window out onto the back garden and there was the first honeysuckle flower of this year, later I went to check it out and it smells delicious!
Pottered around in the garden for an hour or so - lots of clumps of Aquilegia have finished flowering so have chopped them back in hope of second flush! Alpine strawberries have been spreading themselves around along with some wild flowers so they’ve been pulled up too! Added some fresh compost which I’ll plant into when its dried :-)
Temperature just under 20°C this afternoon so I had a lazy time watching “Dolly Parton: Here I Am” on iPlayer - https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000crhq - such a talented woman and accomplished musician.
Loads of love and hugs to all my family / Cariad Mawr
