Doing Fine

I popped into the hide briefly (15 mins) to check on the swans' progress.
They seem to be doing fine but were well out on the water - mum, dad and 4 cygnets.

I chose this image to blip because of the chance passing of a grebe behind them.  A separate image of the great-crested grebe is in my 'extras' for today.

Incidentally, the pair of grebes were accompanied by a single stripey headed chick (maybe two?) but I only got brief glimpses of parts of them as they moved amongst the horsetails.

mute swan, Cygnus olor

great crested grebe, Podiceps cristatus
