Friday
Walking around the lanes and estuary edge first thing in the morning is so fulfilling, the scrubland is a haven for birds and small mammals. Dippy scurries around finding interesting scents (Mainly rabbits) and accelerates into a frenzied chase in and out of the woods and reeds.
Foxgloves, and wild roses are proliferous here right now, the heady aroma of nature is hypnotic.
Wild blueberry conserve on sourdough bread for breakfast before showering and heading to a physio appointment in Carmarthen.
The town was lively except the indoor market which seemed to have several closing down sales in operation.
We sat in scorching sunshine for 10 minutes before searching for the caravan sales shop for the purchase of a leisure battery. I was astounded by the number of massive caravans and motorhomes lined up like centurions, All brand spanking new with nowhere to go.
As we were in the far side of the Towy estuary a visit and exploration of Llansteffan was apt. The beach was virtually empty, the pub/eatery was full to the rafters and the benches outside rammed. The short drive back to Amadeus was on quiet roads in fine misty rain. Supper was sausage, vegetable and noodle casserole and the last of the rhubarb with double cream served.
