Water, water everywhere
Our final day of this holiday. We started off fairly early - never takes us long to pack everything.
Our first stop was Fingle Bridge - a 17th century stone arch bridge in the Dartmoor national park. We had a walk along the riverside path which was so lovely and peaceful. The bird song there was incredible - I love the Merlin app which tells us which birds we can hear.
Then up to nearby Castle Drogo - for a coffee and a little walk in the gardens there.
Then started off more towards home but got snarled up near Exeter - the A30 was so busy so the traffic was trying to escape it. Eventually we got as far as Sidmouth, and we’re ready for another walk along the seafront. I love the red sandstone cliffs along the front, but the sand does turn the sea into an unpleasant colour!
Home by about4.30. Unpacked, then off to thePavillion in town where the Wessex Musical group are putting on Oliver, and asking everyone to donate something to the foodbank. .we took two trolleyfulls back to church, then to the hub.
