Heading north

A long drive this morning as I head north for my young padawan's wedding on Saturday.

My blood tests from yesterday were good.

I worked from our Retford depot and just had a few meetings in the diary. One of them was a stay interview with one of the team. That sounds rather grand but I realised that the more in depth chats I have with my team are about to trying to help them develop their career and hopefully stay within the business. It was a good chat.

I did have a bit of sport with him later though. He'd left his laptop unlocked and he headed outside. I sent an email to the team from him saying that I was the best boss ever. He didn't realise and then started to get phone calls from the rest of the team. That'll teach him a lesson. Lol! It was a joke, but there is some seriousness to it. If you did that on a train or a coffee shop, it could cause damage. So top security tip.

I headed to the hotel later. Not an auspicious start as the original room they gave me clearly hadn't been cleaned, the bed clothes were all over the shop. I complained and got a new room. They do nice food there and the tomato and basil soup starter and steak and onion pie with triple cooked chips were delicious. Got back to my room to rest for the evening. I then discovered that there was an annoying fly. I nearly got him a few times. There was a wedding in the hotel as well, and the DJ started his set around 8pm. Even though I was on the top floor, it was almost like I was in the room. I had all the hits. Lol! Not much sleep tonight me thinks.
