For a change?
WAY back in the mists of History somewhere; I did a series "Older than me. Well, now being on the far side of the hill and with no sprogs and any Nephews/Nieces already "set up" most of the ||Household stuff I never use would, almost inevitably, end up in either the Sale-room or the Tip.
SO
I thought; why not pre-empt it and use any financial gain myself? There are at least three items in the house which, though elderly are younger than me; by virtue of the fact that I made them at School.
My memory, being senile from age about 20, refuses to recall what else but I remember "our" first "project" - a cross of wood with, would you believe, an Asbestos layer for a stand for Mam's Iron. YES it's that long ago.
All else I remember - this little Box, a "Purple Heart" wooden Bowl, no longer Purple but fully functional and a Tray with a two-colour four-pointed Star, like you'd see the Cardinal Points of a Compass.
B. T. W. The Lid did fit when it was young; 60-70 years ago.
