The Globe

Into Leeds with MrM late afternoon for an early meal at Friends of Ham with Tom, Lucy and Reuben. As always it was lovely to spend time with them. The food was good but, unfortunately, the venue was so noisy that conversation was difficult. Guess it was peak time on a Friday for people to be out enjoying an after-work meal or drink. Afterwards T, L and R consented to pose, albeit reluctantly, for a photo (extra).

We parted ways and MrM and I headed for the Howard Assembly Rooms for a concert by Martin Hayes, an Irish fiddle player, and very good it was too.

On the way back to the van we passed the Globe, which was commissioned by Leeds City Council to commemorate the major regeneration of the area. According to ArtUK, it's a "spherical fountain where water runs down the ball to the base without actually leaving the surface". This evening it was just a ball without the water!
