Tablets

I’ve found the ‘card’ versions of tablets for weaving quite hard on my hands, and on the wool, so after a bit of research I decided I wanted to go for smaller size and in a material closer to that used in the Viking era.

In case this didn’t suit I didn’t want to buy some of the beautifully finished wood or antler ones and got hold of some cheap and cheerful plywood ones. They need a bit of sanding to take away the sharp edges but I’ve quite enjoyed myself smoothing them out and treating with linseed oil.

Looking forward to getting enough finished to weave a thicker belt. Just need to decide which pattern to use.
