Excellent day (apart from one fail). Nick Harkaway and Mat Haig were both brilliant, as was Phillipe Sands. Harkaway is John le Carre’s son and a novelist in his own right. Matt Haig is everyone’s favourite compassion writer, who majors on happy endings (except his first novel when he killed the dog - apparently he still gets hate mail about that). Sands is a master of investigative storytelling, most recently about Pinochet and Chile.

Excellent pizza this evening in a little pop-up in the middle of town.
