Sunset at Snailbeach

My blip today is sunset at the remains of the Snailbeach lead mine. Lead was mined here from Roman times until the 1950s. In the mid 19th century it was probably the largest lead mine in Europe, employing more than 500 men. We will make a return visit when the visitor centre is open.
