From Now On...

Epic...! Updated!

That's how Rebecca and Chris have described their wedding day! It has indeed been truly amazing!

The venue itself was amazing! After being turned down by several parishes because Rebecca and Chris are members in their home churches, Rebecca decided to give the cathedral a call....and they were delighted to offer it to the happy couple and the more than delighted and relieved parents.

After the 11.30am ceremony, the day was full of other wonderful fun things, so typical of the couple and their many friends. Dinner was followed by a Ceilidh...so much fun! The first dance was replaced by a first swim. We all headed for the beach and at 9pm and with an incredible sunset, Rebecca and Chris and at least fifty of their friends donned swimming gear or wet suits and ran into the sea.  We had taken ours because the idea appealed but the wind didn't.

Both Rebecca and Chris are heavily involved with sailing and met during gap years with the Morning Star Trust, https://www.mst.org.uk, a charity involved with youth work,  and Rebecca is now cruising instructor with Turn to Starboard, a charity supporting Forces personnel suffering from PTSD https://www.turntostarboard.co.uk, hence the sea featuring big time today.  Because of these commitments after a honeymoon, they will be literally like ships that pass in the night until September. The song You'll be in my heart sung by Phil Collins, played as Rebecca came into the cathedral and is obviously very special to them both.

A rambling write up! But it deserves sharing. And that little girl I taught at 8yrs old has become a beautiful and gifted young lady, and now, a wife!
