In Droves
The plan today for my day off had been to go to the Garden Festival up at Scone, but it was all down to Mel as it’s her birthday weekend, and a day ahead of that she decided she wanted to get away from crowds, rather than seek them out.
So we headed for a really lovely walk above and in Glen Eagles (yes, it is two words, yes it is ‘that’ Gleneagles it overlooks). Up Common Hill, diverting from the intended, but dull-looking, Wether Hill, making instead for the craggy West Craigs, dropping down over picturesque carved burns, then back up the valley along the old Drove Road (which had a strangely All Creatures Great and Small feel to it).
Lovely day out, only seeing one cyclist and one fell runner - just what we needed.
