Whitby

We ventured into Whitby using the Park and Ride. The first couple of hours were very pleasant but when we came out of the cafe where we had enjoyed brunch (French toast with feta cheese and honey for me) we found the narrow streets were packed with soooo many people. Not my idea of enjoyment so we headed up the 199 stone steps to the abbey and walked a  little along the cliff top. After making a couple of necessary purchases back in town we decided to cut our losses and head back to the van. 
Note to self: next year, set out a week earlier to avoid the half term holiday period!
