Brodick Beauty
Nice to wake up in Brodick, Arran, in The Ormidale Hotel. We had coffee in bed and did our word puzzles and then enjoyed a full Scottish breakfast with a view over the bay.
We walked round to the Arran Aromatics shop to get some of their shaving soap for Bb, which he loves. Some of you may remember he tried to order it online a year or so ago. It arrived in Madrid, was held in customs and he filled in three long forms to get it released. He was travelling and missed the 3-day deadline for completion and so they were returned! Luckily he got a refund. This time, we found out that the solid soap line has been discontinued, so he left clutching shaving gel and cream! We walked back following the coastal path, managing to just get back in time to avoid very heavy showers.
After a wee rest in the afternoon, we walked into Brodick centre again and played a game of mini golf, only having to give up after a few holes because the heavens opened. We walked smartly to The Douglas Hotel, enjoyed the views of Goatfell and the ferry coming and going.
Walked back to our hotel and dinner of fish and chips for me and scampi and chips for Bb. Finished the day with just under 15,000 steps. The fish and chips probably took care of that though!
Brodick was busy today, although we didn’t partake of much of the entertainment: a rugby sevens tournament, hockey matches, the gay pride parade and then a ceilidh at night in the town hall.
