Little and Large

It’s strange that the 8 months since I last sat in the sun in this garden over the wall from the sea have disappeared into thin air - it’s as if I’ve never left.
It may be all blue skies, deep blue seas and warm sunshine now but it was showery and unsettled earlier in the day. However it was dry for the 10am dip and very sociable too. I meant to take a photo entitled ‘Tit on Tour’ to send to the Porty BlueTit website but completely forgot amongst all the round of welcoming hugs.

The rain started just after I hung my wet swimming clobber out to dry in the garden but  I ignored it to concentrate on getting to the local coop to hunter gather. Not only did I hunter gather food I collected a nice young man,  also a visitor that I have bumped into over the years, who stood me a coffee at the local delicatessen shop and regaled me with the plot of a book he is writing. He regaled me so much that I won’t need to buy the book if it ever gets published.

I got back to base and did  a quick turn round to meet a fellow Selkie and the lovely Michael to see a little exhibition of paintings in a small local art gallery. There were some of the Hoy Hills that I loved and will keep my beady eye on should NS&I come up with some prize money- unlikely but you never know.

Afterwards we came back to my flat for coffee and küchen and hilarious chat. The best place to sit in the house is in the bedroom built out on stilts overlooking the sea, but that entails negotiating a king size bed to get to the 2 chairs at the window. It’s a hard image not to engender a conversation about ‘threesomes’ which added to the general hilarity.

It’s been a grand day and a lovely precursor for the ones ahead.
