Garden day

The last day of the holidays before a 7 week and 2 day Term 6 and I have spent quite a bit of it in the garden. Bailey granted me a lie in but once he was walked I cut the grass and did a bit of weeding out the front. Then I dug up one overly leggy plant to make space for the euphorbia purchased at Beetham and planted the 3 dahlias and the other purchased plant. Bailey supervised horizontally. The garden has definitely benefitted from the warmth and a bit if rain - including a short-lived downpour at teatime today. The roses and ceanothus are in full flower and other things are emerging too. The forecast this week is a bit mixed but I can hopefully get out there a bit more this week after work.

Other weekend jobs done too - ironing and bed changing - and I finished listening to Long Island whilst I was gardening.  I have really enjoyed it, not least because of it being read so beautifully by Jessie Buckley. I started listening to it on the journey west so it has been the book of the holiday and fitting that I have finished it today.
