So Come Along For The Ride

Dear O'H dear, Lovely Tea Jenny and The Mini Princesses,

The Youngest Mini Princess came home last night (and we had a lovely evening). She was hanging with Murphy tonight as The Prince and I went to Murrayfield to see Robbie Williams.

It was a brilliant show. We arrived in time to see Rag'n'Bone Man who has the most incredible voice. So rich and powerful. I could have listened to him for hours.

And then Robbie came out and spectacularly entertained us. He is a mix of outrageous confidence and fragility. He dropped in his struggles with addiction and mental health “This is from 1997. I was just out of rehab” was his introduction to ‘Old Before I Die before clarifying that he’s now 3 rehabs and 5 breakdowns in!

Great fun. He clearly loves performing and is very good at it. He banters with the audience in between belting out hits with a superstar glow.

It’s the third time I’ve seen him live (first time was 2001) and it was definitely my favourite of the performances.

Ending with ‘Angels’ was perfect and I sang my heart out, thought of my angels and had a flashback reel playing in my head of singing it whilst standing on a bar 25 years ago!

C
