TheOttawacker

It’s June... nearly… was that a snowflake I felt?

Up at the crack of dawn to hear Ottawacker Jr. heading out on his bus ride. It is a wet and cold day – and the lemon tree I put outside yesterday, just in time for the storm, doesn’t seem to be doing well. My fault…

Today was the start of Ottawacker Jr.’s club tournament – most clubs host one of sorts, and this – being at the start of the season – is called the Icebreaker. Given the crappiness of the weather - 6°, ridiculous – we got off relatively lightly, as there were only two games scheduled for today, against OFC (which ended up in a kerfuffle) which they won 2-1, and against Ottawa City. The second game ended 1-1, but the Internationals lost on penalties 3-2.

The best thing about the matches was that there were only two of them and we could get in out of the cold reasonably quickly. Ludicrous to think that tomorrow is June and we are outside freezing our butts off.

Back home around 5.30, which just gave us enough time before we were out for dinner at our next-door neighbours’ place, Ashley and Lindsey. Very pleasant evening, despite L serving wine in the largest glasses I have ever seen. I felt like Sam Allardyce.
