Alliums
The alliums have started to bloom. This one is part of a clump growing between the house and the neighbor's driveway. It is an area that will need to be cleaned up.
Brunch this morning was hard, because everyone wanted to find out how Alan is doing. No news since Wednesday. I called one of the other members tonight because she talks to Alan on a regular basis. We ended up talking for over an hour. She had talked to Alan on the phone this week, and she agreed, that he did not sound well. For the length of time that we have known Alan, none of us know his daughter's names. For all the time he talks about his family, he never mentions their names.
I'm not sure if I will stay awake for it, but we are supposed to be able to see the Northern Lights tonight. They could be visible anytime between 10 pm and 2 am tonight and again tomorrow night.
We had a great time at the Abba musical murder mystery last night. 34 from the group attended. The Merry Melodramas had 5 shows booked and all of them sold out. Supper did not go quite as planned. The pub we had planned to go to was full and they were not expecting any tables to be empty till after 6 pm when the game was over. We were not sure what game people were watching, other than the waitress said it was a final game. We ended up going around the corner to a pizza place.
Yesterday Merlin identified a red eyed vireo singing. The bird has eluded me for the past 2 years. When I lived on Helene, I could hear one singing, but never seen it. This morning a new bird landed on the deck. I wasn't fast enough with my camera, but it was the red eyed vireo. I am hoping he comes back again.
