Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Seven

It was great to see seven cygnets down at the dam, although one seems to need a bit more convincing before joining its cyglings in going a-swimming.

A little earlier on my walk, even more exciting, an Otter in the River Aire at the nature reserve (extra). This was the first time I’ve ever seen one in fresh water (previously only on the coast in the Western Isles.) It was being quite active in the water before disappearing into the undergrowth.

Also, first Meadow Brown butterflies of the year.
