Butterflies

No church today as we drove up to Deep Run to have a potluck lunch with some of the family.

Before the gang arrived we walked up the path to visit Roger (his gravesite) and along the way I saw several Buckeye butterflies.

Walking around the yard, looking for fire ants (to put poison on) and to check for really soggy spots (had over 5” rain in 3 days) I saw this Painted Lady on some lantana.

We found a few fire ant beds but no soggy spots which was amazing.

Lunch was good and there was some reminiscing. There was no leftover casserole for me to bring home and only one piece of cake. I ate that piece once we got home!

It was 6 pm by the time we got home so only enough time left in the day to clean up the dishes we took and do the day’s laundry before it was time for bed.
