Small Skipper

Was going to have a trip out today, but in the end there was too much going on at home, so I snatched a couple of hours on the butterfly reserve instead.

I found this male small skipper near the top of the ridge and amongst many of it's fellows.  Even more than I saw last time.  The golden skippers always remind me of teddy bears with all that fur and their funny little faces.  Very endearing!  And it was a beautiful walk - the clouds did sail across sometimes but then they sailed on and left the sky wonderfully blue.  However, it looks like the rain will finally reach us tomorrow and goodness, the ground does need it.
