Bishop's Palace Drying Green

Obviously the Bishop hadn’t done his smalls this  morning.  The Tower was the resting place of King Haakon IV of Norway and he died here in 1263.  He left no laundry lists.

I only danced two dances this morning and I had to retire with an injury, indeed a severe and painful cramp.  So I made my excuses and hobbled to get some chocolate for CMC.  The one bonus was meeting Malcom who has had a lot of chemo and radiotherapy, he now awaits the result if his MRI scan in Aberdeen.  He was remarkably perky.  I then met Frances who was sadly quite slow in walking.  She too has had a set back in her mobility.  It’s a shame because Frances is a superb Scottish Country dancer.  I am not fit to lace her pumps, or her drink.  I met her again later as we waited for the dancing class to let out the poor students.    I then met Lesley in an emporium; she is  in charge of a poetry circle.  I gave her the first line of my new limerick.  She pressed her emergency buzzer.  CMC took me out for lunch to Tankerness, amazingly we met a table of four fowk fae Hoy.  As requested, here is a brief update:  Blanche now has a whippet; confusingly she calls it Desmond.  Scullion spends most of his time in the cellar aggravating Cook.  Cook is on chapter four of a book of incantations.  She is thankful that Scullion abandoned his idea of building a particle accelerator in the cellar.  He gave up in frustration after he couldn’t get the redundant part of his sister’s old washing machine to work.  However he is now reading ‘Build-it-yourself atomic bomb for Beginners’.  (He already has three orders)  Despite all enquiries there is no word of the whereabouts of Bernard.  Indeed any news would be welcome.
