The Survivor

This orchid has been growing at the front of our house for several years.  This year I managed to cut the new shoot of the plant off with my hoe during a bit of over enthusiastic week clearing and I really thought I might have killed it, but here it is!

I spent time in the garden this morning and during the afternoon.  While we were away last week, the dahlia patch had become infested with mare’s tails which I have now cleared out.  They grow so quickly.
