Time to head homeward

Sadly, but encouraged by the deterioration in the weather, we departed the North York Moors and headed for the Pennines. Our journey eastwards was a rather blustery one and we were buffeted by the southerly wind  so it was a relief to reach Penrith and turn north.
After several hours driving (with a few stops for us and for Bertie) we arrived at the Corran Ferry in sunshine with just a few more miles to go in order to reach our last campsite of the holiday at Strontian on Loch Sunart. We weren’t there for very long before we became aware of the presence of the wee irritating biting beasties (midgies) that we had forgotten about for the past four weeks!
