Princes Street Gardens look very green with the trees in full leaf now.  Flower beds at the side are colourful with roses and other flowers including nepeta which was attracting hundreds of bees.  We were surprised and horrified to see a lady flicking bees off the flowers with a glove then stamping on them as she smiled.  S reprimanded her before we continued on our way and then on glancing back noticed she had resumed her murderous onslaught so he went back and told her again to stop.  Smiling she said nothing but walked away back along the path where there were plenty more bees to kill but we had no time to check her again.  We cannot imagine why she was deliberately killing innumerable bees and taking great pleasure to do so.
