Chirpity chirpity charity chirp

Sometimes I think the Carolina Wren is the happiest bird because their song is just so upbeat and cheery. This one was singing his heart out in the same apple tree housing the house wren in my neighbors yard. They are just so darn cute with that perky eyebrow stripe.  Back in the early 90's  we had one hanging around in the summer and I read in the Peterson guide that they may move north in summer but that they would die off in a harsh winter so they were essentially more southern birds. I felt terrible when winter came because 93 was a very harsh winter with lots of snow and temps below 15 for a month. I was skiing around the yard one day and heard "chirpity chirpity etc and couldn't believe it , but there they were  seemingly cavorting in the snow and doing perfectly fine. They did roost in our barn over that year at least . They have been a presence in the neighborhood ever since,  another clue to the changing climate. BTW I did not try to add any light to this because as I was editing the computer froze and when my son got it to work again I didn't want to risk a repeat performance. So it's a little dark. when I took it I didn't want to increase the ISO any further and I can't keep the camera steady enough with the heavy lens to shoot at a speed of less than 320.
