Flowers on Bern

After a better than expected trip, I arrived in Bern, the stunning capital of Switzerland and, perhaps, my favourite city.

I love walking round the covered arcades of the old city and finding new places or hidden piazzas I had not discovered before.

This floral creation was on display in one of the squares and was created from the heads of thousands of begonias and was a riot of colour. One of the parts of the display was made out in the form of the cantonal flag and coat of arms of Bern, which depicts a bear. The bear is the symbol of the city and the Barengraben, or bear pit nearby, contains some replicas of the real thing!!
