The Goose Whisperer
Sophie, Our campsite owner’s daughter having a word with Syd, who can be a tad vocal and in the habit of rounding you up and ‘goosing’ you if you are a stranger or a fox. These geese are wonderful guards and Sophie told us that they have never had a problem on the farm with foxes, or other predators, when Syd and his ladies are around.. Sophie raised Syd from an egg so that’s why he behaves himself when she’s around. I declined the offer to come and join them!
Lots of rain in the night and heavy showers continued but stopped about 10am, so after packing up ‘Matilda’ inside we were able to de-camp in the dry and had a good journey home, having a pit stop at the wonderful Apley Farm Shop, Café and gorgeous plant centre just outside Bridgnorth. We purchased a few delights in the Farm Shop, enjoyed a cuppa and cake in the lovely Apley Kitchen Café and a mooch for me round the very different plant centre run by a brother and sister who have a great knack for beautiful planting.
Home now, Mr HB catching up with the weekend’s GP and me …….. with the washing etc!
We’ve both had a wonderful weekend away in ‘Matilda’ and Mr HB’s recovery from his horrid bout of Shingles has been greatly escalated by 2 days of fresh air at the wonderful Midlands Air Festival.
