Hexham

This is Hexham Abbey which has seen some changes since the 12th Century. Looking around it is obvious work continues to update its facilities. We tried one such improvement made back in 2014. The Refectory Cafe serves a nice coffee and blonde brownie.

We did a minor bit of retail therapy around the town including checking out charity shops for games to have in the caravan. We now have Scrabble, backgammon and an assortment of card and dice games.

After lunch in town we checked out the River Tyne before exploring some of the country lanes near our campsite. It has been raining on and off but we have avoided the worst of it. At least the caravan is getting a clean…
