CATARACT SURGERY - RIGHT EYE

This is Monday's blip -- posted on Tuesday.

Got an early bus to The Metrocentre so I could do a bit of shopping before my appointment at the Eye Clinic.

Got my blip shot in the bag.  The Mono Monday theme is Interesting angle.  I took my shot through the top of a metal litter bin.  Thanks to Carolina for hosting.

Reported to the clinic for my appointment which was at 1.15pm to be told they were running around 1½ hrs behind  ( due to having to fit in an emergency patient)  so could I come back around 2.15pm. I messaged Neil about the delay as he was due to come and take me home after the surgery.

Had no more shopping to do so I just had a wander and sat on a bench for a while before returning to the clinic.  Had around 30 min wait before I was seen by a nurse for form filling, drops to dilate pupil etc and then I was moved into the operating room.  Bit of a struggle to lie flat but I did get fairly comfortable in the end.  Surgery didn't take too long and then I was taken into another room to go through discharge procedure.  Given letters for optician and GP, and a supply of eye drops.

It was now 3.20pm.  I messaged Neil to come and get me.  He arrived at the clinic around 3.40pm and we headed for the car park where Neil's friend Wayne was waiting to drive us home..  Neil got me settled and then he and Wayne went to the Hobson to play golf.  ( Because of my surgery being delayed they had to cancel the original course they had booked and change to the Hobson )

I wasn't feeling too bad when I got home but during the evening things got worse.  My right eye started watering constantly and it was very sore.  I also had a terrible headache,  No vision in this eye and it was so sore and irritated I just had to keep it closed anyway. I couldn't relax or do anything so in the end I just took some painkillers and went to bed early.

I managed to have a good sleep - according to my fitbit I slept for 11 hours.

Feeling much better today - Tuesday  - and will blip later.
