I took myself away on a trip across the borders to meet an old friend for lunch.  I found out something very useful - Country pubs in the Borders are closed for lunch on Mondays and Tuesdays.  But we found a decent cafe and had a good catch-up over tea and a sandwich.
I enjoyed the drive - the coutryside looks splendid with the mix of sun and rain we've recently.  And relatively free of traffic.
The garden needs some serious attention but this week is busy with other things.  I pushed myself through shrubs which should be cut back to find flag irises blooming in the pond.  Looks great against the dark background of some shrubs.
