Leisurely Days

We had a leisurely start to the day with a long breakfast cooked by David of bacon, eggs and mushrooms, washed down with plenty of coffee.

Then we wandered down to the nearby beach where we had a taste of the Tyrrhenian Sea for the first time. We just paddled in tentatively, testing the water. It was cold but very refreshing!

Following our small attempt at walking on the beach, we climbed up some steps to a small hotel bar, called Lo Scoglio which means The Rock, as it was built into the rock face. We ordered some refreshing drinks and nibbles.

After an unsuccessful attempt at a nap, we decided to cool off in the water properly this time.

The beach is mostly made up of large smooth stones, but the stones got smaller as I waded deeper into the water, where the waves nearly knocked me off my feet. So I ended up just remaining seated on the stones letting the waves wash over me. It was so exhilarating!

David cooked dinner for us and we spent a relaxing evening with lots of good conversation.
