Amsterdamse Bos parkrun

parkrun in Amsterdam - the start near the Olympic rowing lake  - a one-lap course through a beautiful forest with occasional flower meadows and excellent paths. The volunteers were well used to tourists and incredibly welcoming,  even teaching us how to say 'thank you' in Dutch - 'danker val'. I walked with G the first 4k until he paused to take photos, so I decided to run the last km. Took it easy wilh a jog as it was the first run in a month - I loved it. Post run breakfast was in the forest café on a wooden table shared with the core team a delicious traditional Dutch apple pie.

Home for a shower, then out to the city. J&J met up with a cousin and we had chance to explore the city independently.  We found chips for lunch, negotiated our way past hundreds of bikes, statue elefants, Dom Square, canals, the Amsterse River, Anne Frank 's House, and yet more canals. Beautiful!

Later we met back up with J&J shared news and had dinner. We went to bed tired and satisfied.
