70 Today!

That's Jan (HarlingDarling), not me. I reached that point 4 years ago.
We had a good day with really nice sunny weather so we sat outside for an early morning cup of tea. It was early because I had to be in town at 8:30 to let the doctor look at a new mole (which is harmless). Then on to Rose's for a birthday breakfast of bacon and eggs, croissant, cheese, bread, coffee, and fruit! We provided the cherries, some scones, and the birthday cake. As usual when we share space with Rose we had a good time. Breakfast went on for so long we didn't have time for a walk!
Back home we prepared for "afternoon tea" with Ann and Mats. It seemed a bit wrong to finish one meal and to directly start preparing the next meal so we spent some more time working on our America Clock. We carefully measured how it leaned on our kitchen top, where it worked (tipped forward and the right side slightly high) . Then we moved it to the new shelf on the wall and used paper wedges to make it lean out from the wall a little, and to lift the right side.
And it worked!!
Of course we'd tried to do this before but this time I was really careful and exact, with goods results. The clock now sits on its shelf and ticks (and chimes) away - hooray!
Jan did a bit of garden work, I moved more stuff back into the cellar.
Afternoon tea was taken outside in the sun, and since it stayed warm till the sun went we sat there a long time.
What a good day! Lots of delicious and (more or less) healthy food. Good tea and coffee. Tasty Prosecco. Warm sun and a cooling breeze.
A very good day to turn 70 says Jan!
