I can't say I was exactly looking forward to going to this place but I was really looking forward to getting this skin cancer off my arm, especially as I was beginning to suspect that it had become infected. I decided to go it alone because I was afraid John would probably wind up spending most of the time in this room. This is the main waiting room which they refurbished recently. It looks cleaner but still a bit like a bus station. This sculpture of their logo on the wall, complete with twinkle lights, caught my eye as the only rather attractive thing about the whole place.
I will spare you the details and say only that it all went better than I thought it would. They almost didn't do it because it was indeed infected but Dr. Peng, the boy wonder MOHS specialist said he would. I only had to wait once because he got it all on the first pass and I could wait wherever I wanted because they took my cell phone number, so I waited in my car which was preferable to the waiting room. There was quite a conference about how to close the wound. Dr. Peng knows my very strong feelings about .that and he gave me three choices with pros and cons but in the end decided himself and was able to do it with stitches which was my choice.
I'm home now with instructions to start antibiotics right away, the lidocaine is wearing off and I'm going to take a nap.
