Evening light on William yard

This is the view from the upstairs supitting room in the house where i am watering the window boxes! It is a lovely peaceful room in complete contrast to my return home yesterday! When I got back the smoke alarm was sounding and I did not know how to stop it then I remembered the button to press, however it didn’t work! I also popped upstairs to see if I had any post and noticed water dripping into the hall from the first floor flat. I went back downstairs and looked up at the ceiling and the water was beginning to show! I discovered today that the alarm had been sounding since Friday and no one knew how to contact me! James my upstairs neighbour has been subjected to it! I understand from him that the washing machine upstairs has a waste pipe that needs to be put in the sink before the washing is started and the tenant knows about it but twice in the last four days has neglected to do it! I had a very disturbed night and am looking forward to a decent sleep tonight! Mark came this morning and removed the smoke alarm and water flooded out of it!, the circuit had shorted! The more worrying thing is that the building alarm system which is currently not being used, is also in the near location of the waste water!
