Peonies in a hay field
Up at the crack of dawn to head home. We had a nice stay and got many things scratched off the to do list. We stopped here where farmer Sam's uncle had a cabin when we first came to the ridge. After he passed a few years ago Sam burnt the cabin down and now uses this as a hay field and pasture. The only thing that remains is this bunch of dark pink peonies. Seems sad to think all that is left of a mans hard work and life is a bunch of pretty flowers that now look totally out of place.
We stopped by the paint store, 2 Amish greenhouses, the library, the dump and the PO and made it home by 4:00. We skipped lunch and made breakfast for supper.
Things were in much better shape then I expected at home and the garden did pretty well in the high tide and wind storms. I'll take it!
I'll try to catch up...
