Spur of the Moment
Worked well this morning at the class.
S is on a three day First Aid Course with Live Active at the Dewars Centre so a day to myself.
Had lunch then a walk with Lucca where I met a girl I used to work with, Gina, and her Westie called Riley who is 18 months. An active wee dog, not like Lucca lol!
I tried to do some gardening but it was so windy and showery.
Ben was helping out the teachers at his former primary school at Craigie as it was their Sports Day. Oh, it brought back many memories of attending his sports day and cheering g him on in the running race and the sack and egg and spoon.
I had this idea a wee while ago that I wanted to go to Liverpool for a city break and said to Laura that I think lll just go myself and she said Ben will go with you. So I asked him and he said yes.
I checked the trains from Perth to Liverpool which were a faff changing at York with not much leeway from one train to the other and also expensive then I checked them from Glasgow which were direct (Trans Penine) from Central to Lime Street. Lo and behold and amazingly I got a fab deal. Leave 30 June at 4 from Central and return leaving Lime Street at 4 on Friday 4 July and the whole trip is £100 quid! And it’s first class too! What a bargain Now to find a hotel.
So much to see and do in Liverpool am sure Ben will enjoy it too.
Evening walk and the. Watched the 2nd part of the Bruce documentary on BBC 2. It was just so good. And they interviewed the lady who accepted the cheque of 20k that Bruce wrote to help the Miners, well to the ladies than ran the Kitchen feeding the strikers. And they also got tickets to the show in Newcastle in 1985. I laughed when she said she crossed herself before going into the stadium as she was a Sunderland supporter ! Haha. Bruce is the best.
