Man made brutalist architecture…

Vivier bunker, distillery and shop; which should fit the theme of brutalist architecture.
The island is littered with bunkers left over from the occupation. People ask why they were not removed after the war. That would be just about impossible. 10% of the concrete in Hitler’s Atlantic Wall was in Guernsey and Jersey. They don’t build ‘em like that these days. Besides apart from giving the island it’s unique landscapes it is important to preserve history and hope that people might learn from past mistakes or at least remember them.

Today’s saying is ‘I’ve got no axe to grind’
The idiom "I've got no axe to grind" means that someone doesn't have a personal reason or hidden agenda for doing or saying something, and they are not motivated by a grudge or bias.
The phrase comes from a cautionary tale, often attributed to Charles Miner or Benjamin Franklin, about a man who persuades a boy to sharpen his axe using a grindstone. The man initially appears nice but later scolds the boy for being late and doesn't pay him, leaving the boy feeling wronged. This story highlights the idea of having a hidden agenda or personal motive
