THE BUMBLEBEES ARE BUSY!
I have been busy again today, trying to sort out the labels for the Community Fridge so that I can take them in with me tomorrow, but it’s a much bigger job than I realised. In fact, I have been so busy, I’m not even dressed yet, and as it’s now 3.30, there’s not much point now - so I think I will just lounge around for the rest of the day.
I did spare a few minutes to go out into the garden this morning though, and it was a pleasure to see all the bees around our beautiful sage bush. Who knew that sage had such beautiful flowers? This little bee was certainly getting lots of nectar and stayed for sometime, flitting from flower to flower. I did wonder what sort of bee this was, and after looking on Google, think it is an early bumblebee; apparently, these are important pollinators of soft fruit, so hopefully they will soon find our raspberries and blackberries.
Although I’ve been busy, it has been a lovely day, which is good for me, because tomorrow it’s Community Fridge day and I do find that quite tiring. Our car has gone in for something to be done to the petrol gauge, so we are carless, although Mr. HCB has been working in the garden, of course, but I rather like lazy days like this. We have a chicken salad tonight, with plenty of lovely lettuce from the garden, so not even much cooking, just some chopping and mixing. In fact, I think this little bee has been busier than I have!
